Drawing and craft were a source of joy during my childhood days. I used to regularly participate in school arts and painting competitions. I had a strong inclination towards fine arts but could not take it as one of my major subjects later in my college life. But this did not stop me from Sketching and painting and I actively took part in different competitions organized by my college. But sadly I could not take Fine Arts as one of my major subjects while doing a Bachelor's degree in humanities. I worked for a few years as a front office manager in a local firm that manufactured traditional inlay furniture. After sometimes in 2009 I got my Bachelor's Degree in Teaching and I became a qualified teacher. It was during that time that I was able to showcase my skills in sketching and paintings. I won several college prizes in Painting and Collage Making individually or work in form of a team to represent my college in local Inter-college competitions within the state. I’m thankful to my Twin sister Sintu, who has been very supportive and had actively participated with me in several college competitions. As she knew I had a great love for Fine Arts since childhood and always dreamt of being a known artist. After completion of my B.Edu Degree from CEC- Landran, Chandigarh, I taught for a few months in a local school located nearby. I believe you are never too old to learn something new in life. Then Content writing happened something which was new to me. It helped me sharpen my writing skills and I came to know about a lot of new words that greatly improved my vocabulary.

After almost working as a dedicated content writer for a south based firm for a year, I just realized …one life and I have to do what I always wanted to do that is paint….because the artist in me refuse to die…so it was time that I transformed my dream into reality. I picked up my tubes, palette, and brushes and started painting first with Watercolors and as a self-taught artist, I have been able to create my own style of paintings which is different in every way. Success came for me when I was able to sell a few of my paintings at a very good price, which gave me a boost that I can do well in other mediums as well. Then there was no looking back and I tried my hands in other mediums too as the market demanded more for canvas/roll-on canvas-based paintings and yes the medium used was Acrylics. I loved it when people knew me as a watercolor artist and within a year I was successful in painting anything I thought and could easily transfer it on canvas, be it in any given medium and style. For me, life is an ongoing process that never ends.

I don’t follow the typical traditional rules when it comes to art, I work what pleases me and it helps me to paint more beautifully. I believe Art has healing power and in this stress-filled world, one thing which can relax a person’s is the beauty inform of painting. Whether you paint it or view it, it definitely has a positive impact on your physical and emotional health. The eye captures the beauty of the displayed work and soothes the mind it also brings immense joy and happiness and it rejuvenates the soul.

Art can be defined into seven elements or more mainly…texture, line, color, marking, form, shape value, and space. These segments define art perfectly and of course the availability of materials and medium used in making the final piece. I feel with the passage of time new things keep adding to the World of Art. It has become complex as varieties of materials and mediums have made the artist confused …to what can be used and how it can be used.

My paintings are bright, realistic glowing, and add color to life. Favored subjects for me include flora and fauna, Gods and deities, still life, portraits, birds, animals, nature, fruits, vegetables, landscape, and seascapes. Art connects you to God be it singing dancing, sculpting, or drawing it brings out the best in a human being. It is an ideal combination of energy, excitement, mysterious elements, and vivid colors which can light up anyone’s dull life, that’s how I feel.

Other mediums used by me are Graphite pencils, Acrylic, Soft Pastels, crayons, poster colors, color pencils, and sketch pens. At present, I have been working a lot with Acrylics and other mediums and the result has often turned out to be excellent. Different techniques like spray painting, Palette Knife effect, mild washes of brush, and finger painting have helped me in showcasing my paintings to date. Can you ever imagine a life without Art or its various forms? It would be such a dull and boring life. The only two colors would be black and white.
